  • Our read: EasyAlpha grades Crowdstrike Holdings Inc D, indicating below-average quality compared with Technology peers in the S&P 500: solid growth is offset by acute valuation risk, leaving the company graded D by EasyAlpha while 77.4% of 53 analyst ratings are buys.
  • The day: Shares tumbled -6.9% to close at $215.07 on trading volume 1.5x the 20-session average as rising Treasury yields triggered a broad retreat across software stocks.
  • Watching: Whether the stock can maintain its +6.2% one-month gain while trading 8.0% below its 52-week high of $233.88.

Software stocks faced broad pressure on Tuesday, September 1 as climbing global bond yields and rising crude oil prices revived inflation concerns and dampened investor risk appetite across equity markets. Major indexes slid as the 10-year Treasury yield reached 4.79% following strikes on Iran. High-multiple growth equities faced additional pressure from profit-taking following recent market rallies.

The retreat occurred even as Crowdstrike Holdings Inc debuted Falcon Guardian to protect autonomous AI agents at its annual user conference. The company also announced an expanded identity intelligence partnership with SailPoint. Meanwhile, a regulatory filing showed the chief executive sold 19,800 shares under a pre-arranged trading plan, adding to market caution with the stock trading near recent highs.

EasyAlpha grades the company D, placing it below average compared to its industry peers. The strongest pillar in the financial profile is growth, supported by year-over-year revenue growth of +25.8%. That expansion reflects healthy demand for its cybersecurity tools. However, that top-line pace has not translated into strong profitability, with profit margins sitting at 0.8% and return on equity at 1.5%.

That limited profitability leaves valuation as the primary vulnerability in the file. The stock commands a trailing price-to-earnings ratio of 5460.0 and a forward multiple of 185.2. While Wall Street analysts maintain an average price target of $227.58, those premium valuation multiples leave the shares vulnerable during broad sector pullbacks.

  • EWeakest quality
How grades work →

A grade measures quality against the other companies in a sector, from historical data. It is not a prediction, not a price target, and not advice. A company can be graded A and still fall.
