  • Our read: Flex Ltd is graded E by EasyAlpha while 100.0% of 11 analyst ratings are buys; among Technology peers, growth looks strongest while price trend remains the primary vulnerability.
  • The day: The shares surged 11.6% to close at $93.03 after the company reported stronger fiscal second-quarter results and raised its full-year forecast.
  • Watching: The stock sits 44.2% below its 52-week high of $166.86, leaving a wide recovery gap to track after Wednesday's advance.

On Wednesday, FLEX shares marked their second-largest daily gain over the past year, advancing on trading volume that reached 2.5x the 20-session average. Buyers responded directly to the company's fiscal second-quarter financial results. The manufacturer reported revenue of $8.5 billion and record adjusted earnings of $1.18 per share.

Management paired the earnings beat with higher targets for the full fiscal year, raising its full-year guidance for revenue and adjusted earnings per share. Reporting linked the raised outlook to accelerating demand for artificial intelligence data center equipment. Demand proved particularly robust across power infrastructure and cloud hardware. The surge followed weeks of selling pressure, arriving after commentary noted that the recent pullback in the shares was overdone even as one major brokerage lowered its price target to $150.

Wall Street consensus remains overwhelmingly positive on the stock. All 11 covering analysts assign a buy rating, with an average price target of $158.90. Yet EasyAlpha entered Wednesday's session with the stock in its weakest tier. EasyAlpha grades companies on peer-relative quality derived from historical financial and trading data, where companies in the A and B tiers have historically demonstrated lower risk of large drawdowns than those graded D or E.

The divide between Wall Street enthusiasm and EasyAlpha's grade highlights where the business stands. On the operational side, growth is supported by quarterly revenue at +20.6% year over year. However, the price trend remains the primary vulnerability: even after Wednesday's rebound, the stock stands at -18.3% over the past month. Operating fundamentals also show thin profit margins of 3.3%, alongside a beta of 1.66 that reflects pronounced price sensitivity to broader market shifts.

Wednesday's rally extended the stock's winning run to three consecutive sessions. The operational momentum from AI data center orders provides a tangible boost to near-term earnings. Still, EasyAlpha's numbers indicate that one quarterly beat does not immediately resolve a troubled price trend or widen thin operating margins.

How grades work

Every day we grade each company against the other companies in its sector, looking at its finances, how its stock trades, and what the market is signaling. The result is one simple letter.

  • AExcellent quality
  • BGood quality
  • CAverage quality
  • DBelow average
  • EWeakest quality
How grades work →

A grade measures quality against the other companies in a sector, from historical data. It is not a prediction, not a price target, and not advice. A company can be graded A and still fall.
